Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Memorial Day 2020 occurs on Monday, May 25.
Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season.
Please take the time out of your day and think someone who served. Or someone’s family who made the ultimate sacrifice. We are all free because of the men and women who made the sacrifice.
Each year on Memorial Day a national moment of remembrance takes place at 3:00 p.m. local time.
Those that have served and that are remembering the brothers and sisters they lost remember to call someone and talk to them. Your not alone.
